Cultural Wellbeing - What it is and why it matters
Cultural wellbeing is the ability to practice your own and celebrate others’ experiences, beliefs, traditions, and values. It is a great representation of the individualised nature of wellbeing, and Mary and Lisa will talk about how Environment Canterbury have successfully embedded and aligned the Te Whare Tapa Whā model with their wellbeing framework and psychosocial hazards, and how you can do this too.
Mary Abbott and Lisa van der Plas work for Environment Canterbury in the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team. As Senior Partner Health and Wellbeing, Mary comes from an Organisational Development background and brings both her research and practical experience to the role as well as her passion for ensuring everyone can thrive at work. As Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Manager, Lisa has a rich background from her time spent in both New Zealand and overseas and believes building a positive culture is key for any organisation’s overall success.
