Measuring what matters

Figuring out where to start with measuring wellbeing and psychosocial risk is challenging. This session offers company leaders, managers and directors a guide to measuring the wellbeing and psychosocial risk factors that matter. SaferMe co-founder Mike Steere and science lead Dr Steve Cantwell will explain how and why they developed a solution that not only measures psychological and social issues but helps a business identify what is increasing the risk of accidents, absenteeism & worker churn.

Steve obtained a PhD from Waikato University in Applied Cognitive Psychology, focusing on the role that hazard perception plays in the speeds drivers choose to travel. His work at SaferMe focuses on the staged development of a tool for measuring psychosocial risk in the workplace, and predicting increased likelihood of accidents and injuries as a result of these fluctuating stressors. Steve lives in Hamilton with his wife and daughter.
